Angel Falls is the world's highest waterfall. It was discovered by accident in 1933 by an American pilot named Jimmy Angel. He was flying over the jungle in Venezuela looking for gold when he saw the huge waterfall. At first, he did not know how special it was.
In 1937, Jimmy Angel went back to the waterfall. He tried to land his small plane on top of a nearby mountain called Auyán-Tepui. His plane got stuck, and he and his crew had to walk for 11 days to get help. This made the waterfall more famous.
The waterfall was named Angel Falls after Jimmy Angel. It is more than 3,200 feet tall, making it the tallest waterfall in the world. Angel Falls is in a beautiful part of Venezuela called Canaima National Park.
Today, Angel Falls is a popular place for tourists. People come from all over the world to see its amazing height and beauty. Jimmy Angel’s discovery is now one of Venezuela’s most famous landmarks.
